Defence of the Swiss parent principal against a multi-jurisdictional claim brought by the trustee of a UK defined-benefit pension scheme of a wound-down UK subsidiary, asserting an employer-debt obligation under the UK Pensions Act. Proceedings commenced in the UK courts and were escalated to the UK High Court; followed by enforcement action in Switzerland pursued through to the Swiss High Court; subsequently progressed through Swiss bankruptcy proceedings.
